YAV Retreat #1 in September

During the last weekend of September we had our first retreat in the town of Kottayam. It is only about 4 km from my home in Pallom. We had awesome Bible Studies, an important meeting with some officials at CMS College, A great session that helped us develop some new language training skills, and lots of free time.

Buchanan School: First Impressions

I received my teaching time table on Monday September 26, 2011 which includes 4 periods of teaching each day and a few periods of rest in between.  I approached my first class with tons of excitement. Grades are called “standards” in the school system here. My first class was Standard 5 class B. I began my lesson with gusto and introduced myself quickly.

Dear friends,

Hope you are all doing well. Please know that I so appreciate all your prayers and support and I love hearing from you. I feel as though I'm behind on sharing with you. Even though I've been posting recently, there are still so many special experiences & blessings that I haven't yet been able to share. As November is a holiday month for the college, my obligations at the college and at the hostel are much fewer, enabling me to spend more time on things like: blogging! I hope to spend more time at the area schools during this month until classes begin again at the college. But let me first rewind and share some experiences and blessings of the past few weeks.
